The Worst Commercials for 2008
What would you consider a bad commercial? I have always been under the impression that advertising was geared to have a customer so enthralled with the product that they will bewitch it. It would seem that no matter what you are selling the presentation should be most important.
The worst Commercials on television in 2008 in my opinion are:
1.
Arby’s Mercurial Food Restaurant – This advertisement is the one where they take you directly into a family’s bedroom. There is a young man lying on the bed and from the door a woman comes in dressed as an Arby’s waitress carrying a tray with a sandwich on it. The sexual nature of this commercial actually makes me not want to even go into this restaurant much less buy the sandwich they are trying to sell. If you missed the sexual part of the commercial peer the young mans Arby’s hat and you will understand what I mean.
2.
Cialis – Yes this is the commercial for the male potency drug. They have several out on the television of late but one actually has a man and woman sitting on their steps to the upstairs bedroom (or so you are led to occupy) they are actually making out. The shot shows them kissing and then jumps to a shadow picture of a couple sitting in bathtubs. Now I ask you almost all of their commercials have the couple end up somewhere, the beach, woods, race track sitting in bathtubs. Where would you ever find something like this much less where is the water coming from?
3.
Viva Viagra – This is another commercial about male potency drugs. The man is in the attic and finds a horrible tux that is supposes to be from their wedding day. He comes in with roses (imagine where he found those in the attic) and he proceeds to remove the lady to bed. Of course the man cannot execute it up the stairs with his wife – either because he is too old or she has gained too much weight depending on how you thought the commercial. The worst part of this commercial however is the song itself.
4.
Enzyte – That pill that makes that certain part of the male body larger. Good lord this commercial in and of itself is so demeaning and belittling. Do the people who created this pill truly think that adult men and women are stupid enough to believe that once it has reached it’s capacity in size you can actually make it larger. Not only is the commercial playing with adult’s and their intelligence the woman who does the commercial is just about the worst woman on television today.
I feel that these commercials are so belittling and so disgusting that they should be reassessed and perhaps never shown during prime time again.
